living stiches

November 2014, Roborough Studios, Exeter

An installation containing micro fiction, flash fiction and mini sagas. One 100 word story was sewn into and across T-shirts then hung on a washing line. The characters were neighbours in two adjacent tower blocks. The stories were linked both though their contents and a literal thread that joined the pages either side of the clothing, echoing the washing line that links the tower blocks in one of the narratives.

'My boyfriend embroidered my text messages... Our relationship became taut when he began pegging his finished products on the washing line and hanging them between the east tower block and ours...'
