TINNED PEAS: An Interactive Poetry Installation

April 2015, Thornlea Studios, Exeter

Inspired by Foley Art on Radio, the exhibition held a room of seemingly random and mundane objects that the reader interacted with to create a sound that was imbedded in the poem. The reader carried the booklet of poems designed like a ‘How to’ Guide around to each station with a hanging label above it with the title of the poem.

Written version accompanied with an essay answering my title ‘Tangible Poetry and Dried Peas: How can the printed poem be transformed into an interactive, sensory experience?

“Remarkable ‘ways of seeing’ (or hearing!) in here and, with that a great sense of metaphor and image making... Really Excellent!...a delight to visit and experience” – Dr Andy Brown
